West End Bulldogs’ Kennel Expanding in 2020

One of the oldest and most cherished junior clubs in the Rugby League Ipswich were amongst the first to put their hand up to participate in a shortened 2020. President, Jeff lake spoke from the heart following the announcement that the season would soon be back under way. Jae Woodward said “we are a small club so we are close to everyone, our committee has seen all of these kids grow up, become extremely close to them and watched them develop into fine young men and women over recent times. We never, ever thought we would face circumstances like a pandemic in our lives so we just want some normality back. Footy gives us that.”

Jeff and his committee have worked very hard behind the scenes gathering resources in preparation for a post-Covid training and playing environment and planning out training plans under the new circumstances. Jeff stated, “we were very fortunate to receive the sporting grant of $2,000 to put towards hand sanitiser, cleaning equipment and signage for when training and playing returns. It will enable us to keep fees low again in 2020. We can’t wait to have everyone back and welcome new players as well. We would love to host members of other clubs if there isn’t a team for them any longer. We have fun, we laugh a lot and get to know each other under great coaches and managers. Come down and say g’day anytime.”

West End Bulldogs are also capitalising on the opportunity and opening their arms to players seeking a temporary portability permit in 2020.
